We will begin our fitness testing starting this week. Students will be completing the PACER test, curl up test, and push up test. Also, this fall we will try to get outside if the weather is nice. If it is colder outside, make sure to bring a sweatshirt and keep it in your PE locker!

The new school year is right around the corner! I'm excited to get things started as we continue to learn how to be an active and healthy school community. We will be starting the school year with some fun team building and fitness activities. This year in P.E. we will focus on team sports, individual sports, fitness activities, and lifelong activities.
ALL STUDENTS: Remember to bring non-marking P.E. shoes! 6-8TH GRADE STUDENTS: Bring your PE uniform (if you ordered one you will get it in school) and deodorant (no spray)
For 6-8th graders, there will be an Ultimate Frisbee Quiz during the week of 4/11-4/15. Attached is a study guide to remind you of some of the terms and rules we have learned. Make sure you are familiar with these rules as well as backhand, forehand, and hammer throws and pancake and claw catches.
This February we raised $1,149 for the American Heart Association!! Thanks to everyone who donated $1 and to those who ordered a Red Out t-shirt. With that money the AHA is able to save lives and teach people about the importance of taking care of our hearts through healthy eating and exercise!
Congrats to the January PE Students of the Month. These students showed excellent respect, effort, teamwork, and skill all throughout the month of January.
Next week we will be having a quiz over some of the main muscles that we have learned and reviewed in class. Make sure you are able to identify where the muscle is, what it's main job is, and what is an exercise that can strengthen that muscle. You can look at the muscle presentation sheets we had in class to review. Muscles to know: Biceps, Triceps, Deltoids, Pectorals, Quadriceps, Hamstrings, Gastrocnemius, Abdominals, Obliques, Gluteus Maximus, Latissimus Dorsi. During our volleyball unit, Morganne Criswell, a former Illinois volleyball player came into our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classes to teach some strategy and play with the kids!
Before Christmas break, there will be a small quiz over our pickleball unit. Below there are some review topics you should be familiar with. If you have a question on any of these things, please let me know so I can help you understand better!
